4.5星。后海斯法典时代的Loeb & Leopold案,二人神秘的复杂的关系终得以在主流电影中展示。如果说Richard Loeb痴迷犯罪已是逾越伦常,Nathan Leopold的性癖好则将这桩共同犯罪推及至爱欲和美学的诡谲之境。电影的一些部分我尤其喜欢,毁尸灭迹的几段所充斥的vulnerability, sensuality & sensibility,在其他故事中几乎无法得见。
不论是现实中还是电影改编里,二人之间都存在一段基于Leopold想象的king/slave relationship 。但电影似乎有误(与现实相左)?约16分半开始,Leopold的幻想及他向精神病医生的讲述 I dreamed I was an Egyptian king, and Dickie(注:私下对Loeb的称呼) was my slave boy.……He then purchased Richard Loeb as his slave.(来源:Swoon (1992) Movie Script | Subs like Script)电影中Leopold是king,Loeb是slave。

以上如确是错误,已影响了我对故事的理解(不如说正是对故事的不连贯感到高度不解,才会去核实这个点),将Loeb对照为Venus in Furs的masochism美则美矣,却是误读;如特意改编将二人角色对调,则看不出编剧意欲何为。IMDB上介绍电影拍摄仅用时14天,匆忙排期之下方方面面之间确需要有所取舍?作为一部真实事件改编的电影,除了风格化的摄影,现实和作品的严谨对照及适度改编,也该是一种值得关注的美学啊。
